Bankruptcy isn't the end of the world.
There is life after bankruptcy. Most responsible people who go through bankruptcy hope to borrow money again at
reasonable rates at some point down the road and it can be done. In fact, you can reestablish your credit after a
bankruptcy and we have had many client's do so, some have gone on to purchase homes just two short years after
filing bankruptcy.

Re-establishing Credit with more credit
After your bankruptcy is discharged, your credit scores will fall dramatically but you can start to rebuild those scores immediately.
It is true that you must obtain new credit to build up your credit scores. To this end, it is beneficial to re-establish 2 or 3 lines of credit.
A good mix is two credit cards and one installment loan, such as a small personal loan from a bank or a credit union. Make sure
each creditor reports to ALL three credit agencies.
To boost your scores each month, make sure you do not use over 45% of the credit limit, never be late, and pay off the card each
month. For example, if your credit limit is $300, never charge more than $135 on the card at any time and pay the balance in full when
you receive the bill.
Tampa, St. Pete and Clearwater residents can and do re-establish credit after filing for bankruptcy.
Two years after a bankruptcy discharge, debtors are eligible for mortgage loans on terms as good as those of others,
with the same financial profile who have not filed for bankruptcy. The size of the down payment and income stability
will be much more important than the fact that you filed for bankruptcy in the past.
A bankruptcy stays on your credit report for 10 years but it becomes less significant the further in the past the
bankruptcy is. The truth is that you are probably a better credit risk after bankruptcy than before.
